Leila Benali, the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, presented the outlines of the new national sustainable development strategy (SNDD 2035) during a meeting organized by the Diplomatic Institute in Rabat.
This strategy aims to make sustainable development a fundamental pillar in building the Morocco of tomorrow, focusing on six priorities: environmental protection, ensuring equitable access to essential services, transitioning to a green economy, achieving energy and water security, enhancing spatial cohesion, and valuing the national heritage.
To achieve these objectives, Morocco relies on a variety of levers, such as training, digital transformation, sustainable financial mobilization, and improved governance, within a participatory approach that involves regions, public institutions, the private sector, and the Moroccan diaspora abroad.
This new plan reaffirms the kingdom’s commitment to progressing towards a more just and sustainable development model capable of addressing future climate challenges.
