Baitas Signs Partnership Agreement with German Foundation to Enhance the Capacities of Associations in the Marrakech-Safi Region

Mustafa Baitas, the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of relations with Parliament and government spokesperson, and Stephen Hoffmeier, the resident representative of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Morocco, signed a framework partnership agreement aimed at strengthening the capacities of civil society yesterday, Tuesday.

According to a statement from the ministry, this agreement is part of the implementation of the national program to strengthen the managerial and institutional capacities of associations, which began in the Marrakech-Safi region on July 4 of this month. Thirty associations in the region are benefiting from this initiative, under the supervision of the Palm Association.

The program includes organizing training sessions across various provinces and regions to enhance the capabilities of the associative fabric and expand its participation in managing local and national public affairs.

During the signing ceremony, Baitas expressed his gratitude to the Konrad Adenauer Foundation for its efforts in supporting civil society, emphasizing the importance of collaboration among institutional actors and national and international partners to promote the roles of associations and enhance their contributions to development.

This agreement marks the second of its kind between the ministry and the German foundation, following an initial agreement signed in 2023, which focused on the Fez-Meknes region and yielded positive results for the associative dynamics in the area.
