Aston Villa is interested in signing Bilal El Khannouss from Leicester City
It appears that Aston Villa is joining the list of clubs interested in signing Moroccan international Bilal El Khannouss, a Leicester City player, during the current summer transfer window.
The website “AstonVillaNews” reported that El Khannouss emerged as one of the standout players for the Foxes last season, despite the team’s relegation to the English Championship, opening the door for a potential exit this summer.
The player is attracting increased interest from Premier League clubs, especially with a release clause in his contract set at £22.5 million, making him an appealing target in the ongoing transfer market. Coach Unai Emery aims to bolster his attacking options, and El Khannouss seems to be a key part of his plans.
Brian King, a former scout for Aston Villa, stated in exclusive comments to “Villa News” that the club should consider the possibility of signing the Moroccan player. King noted that El Khannouss would be a good addition to the team, citing his geographical proximity to the club but remarked that his performance is “not particularly exciting” despite his solid display at Leicester.
El Khannouss is under contract with Leicester City until June 2028, but the management may allow him to leave following the team’s relegation to the Championship, with reports indicating that Leicester is asking for no less than €30 million from interested clubs during the current summer transfer window.
