Title: Among Them, Wydad: 16 Teams Fail to Settle Financial Situations, League Threatens Sanctions
In preparation for the upcoming 2025-2026 football season, the Professional National League has revealed that 16 clubs from the first and second division have failed to respond to its official communications regarding the settlement of their financial situations. This step is crucial for the qualification of their new players during the ongoing summer transfer window, which runs from July 1 to August 15.
The league stated in an official communiqué that it sent letters to all clubs in the professional divisions on May 16, 2025, requesting clarifications about their financial standings as of March 31, 2025. However, 16 clubs did not respond to these communications despite repeated reminders.
The list of clubs that failed to respond includes, from the first division: Wydad Athletic Club, Kawkab Marrakech, Ittihad Yaacoub Mansour, Olympique Safi, and Ittihad Tanger. From the second division, the clubs that did not reply include: Ittihad Islamie Oujdi, Stade Marocain, Raja Beni Mellal, Chabab Ibn Jirir, Chabab Massira, Mouloudia Oujda, Moghreb Tétouan, Wydad Temara, Ittihad Riadi Aouinar, Chabab Mohammedia, and Wydad Fez.
The league emphasized that this delay in response could hinder the procedures for qualifying new players within these clubs, holding them fully responsible if any organizational or administrative penalties arise as a result.
Conversely, it noted that the files submitted by clubs that adhered to the legal deadlines are currently under review, with results expected to be announced early next week.
