“Diversity Visa Lottery” Issues Faced by Moroccan Winners
Many Moroccans who won the Diversity Visa Lottery for the United States in 2025, organized annually by the U.S. Department of State around the world, are currently facing several issues. Chief among these is the wait for final responses from the U.S. Consulate in Casablanca, which is responsible for these matters. The consulate has delayed responses to their inquiries until the current month of July, with no signs of resolution before the start of the 2026 lottery.
A source from “Express TV” indicated that most winners had left their jobs only to be surprised by the lack of feedback from the U.S. Consulate, especially with the 2026 lottery approaching. This situation has pushed some to plan a visit to the U.S. Embassy in Rabat for further clarification, particularly since they were previously informed that mid-September would be the final deadline to conclude matters for the 2025 lottery winners. Any cases that exceed this date will have their lottery results nullified, prompting many to pursue all possible avenues, especially those who had given up their jobs in pursuit of the “American Dream.”
