Rachid Talbi Alami Explores Ways to Strengthen Parliamentary Cooperation with France in Paris
Paris – On Wednesday, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, held discussions with the President of the French National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet, on the sidelines of the 50th session of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie, which took place from July 9 to 13.
The meeting was attended by Morocco’s Ambassador to France, Samira Sitail, and deputies Al-Hussein Ouallal and Latifa Lablil, during which both sides reaffirmed the strength of bilateral relations between Morocco and France and their mutual commitment to continue developing them.
In a press statement, Talbi Alami highlighted that the discussions were an opportunity to showcase the strong ties between the two countries, backed by the strategic vision of King Mohammed VI and French President Emmanuel Macron. He added that both sides renewed their commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation across various fields, particularly in parliamentary matters.
The officials emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination between the two legislative bodies through exchange visits and experiences, as well as supporting friendship groups. They also stressed the significance of the Moroccan-French Parliamentary Forum, which will hold its next session in Morocco.
The discussions also addressed several regional and international issues of mutual interest, particularly within the Francophone space and in the context of multilateral cooperation.
At the conclusion of the talks, the Speaker of the House signed the golden book of the French National Assembly.
Talbi Alami is leading the Moroccan delegation participating in the 50th session of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie, hosted by the National Assembly and the French Senate, alongside representatives from 95 parliamentary institutions from various continents.
For her part, Deputy Latifa Lablil, representing the Network of Francophone Women Parliamentarians, affirmed Morocco’s pioneering role in establishing this network, praising the kingdom’s dynamic efforts to support gender equality and enhance the exchange of experiences with African parliaments.
Lablil highlighted that discussions within the assembly shed light on the significant progress Morocco has made in promoting women’s status under the leadership of His Majesty the King.
