200 Burkinabé Soldiers Complete Parachuting Certification with Support from the Moroccan Army

Two hundred soldiers from the Burkinabé armed forces have successfully completed an intensive field training course in parachuting, fully supported by the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces.

The training took place over 11 days in Bobo-Dioulasso, western Burkina Faso, and included over 500 successful parachute jumps, reflecting the effectiveness of the program and the participants’ readiness.

The Royal Moroccan Armed Forces had dispatched a C-130H aircraft along with a team of specialized trainers to ensure the technical and logistical aspects of the operation were secured.

This initiative aligns with the strengthening of security cooperation between Morocco and Burkina Faso, especially in light of the growing challenges faced in the Sahel region.

The program underscores Morocco’s commitment to enhancing the capacities of its African sister nations in the fields of security and defense, reaffirming its approach towards effective defense diplomacy based on solidarity and South-South partnership.

This operation is expected to boost the Burkinabé army’s rapid intervention readiness and enhance its stability in the face of terrorist threats.

Morocco has accumulated similar experiences in several African countries, establishing itself as a reliable partner in supporting regional security and building the capabilities of national armies.
