Wydad’s Updates for the World Cup: Absences and Changes in the Schedule Before the Manchester City Clash

Wydad Athletic Club has made adjustments to its preparation schedule ahead of the highly anticipated matchup against Manchester City in the first match of Group Seven at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The final training session will now take place at the club’s facility in Washington instead of the match venue in Philadelphia as initially planned.

Syrian striker Omar Al-Soma is expected to join the team’s squad directly after obtaining his U.S. visa on Wednesday, which will prevent him from participating in the match against City, scheduled for the same day.

In related news, the team’s medical staff has ruled out player Ayoub Bouchta from the upcoming match due to injury after conducting thorough medical examinations that confirmed his lack of physical fitness. Bouchta has been training individually in recent sessions, and he will undergo close medical supervision in preparation for the upcoming match against Juventus.

There will also be a return for forward Hamza Al-Hanouri, who has recovered from the injury he sustained during the friendly match against FC Porto. He participated in his first training session with the team yesterday, awaiting the technical staff’s decision regarding his potential starting position.
