Wydad Racing Club is racing against time to finalize its roster ahead of the FIFA deadline

The Wydad Athletic Club is in a critical race against time, led by coach Ameen Benhashim, to put the finishing touches on its final list in preparation for the FIFA Club World Cup, scheduled to take place in the United States from June 14 to July 13. This urgency follows FIFA’s announcement that June 10 is the last date for official rosters from participating clubs.

The red team must finalize a list of 35 players, including three goalkeepers, before the deadline to prepare for participation in Group A, which includes heavyweight clubs such as Manchester City, Juventus, and Al Ain.

So far, Wydad has secured four new signings to strengthen its squad, which include Burkinabe midfielder Steeve Aziz Ki, forward Hamza El Hanouri, Moroccan international Nordin Amrabat, and Hamza El Wasti.

Negotiations are ongoing with several players who are candidates for joining the club during the exceptional transfer period that runs from June 1 to 10, as specified by FIFA for this global event.

The club hopes to finalize its transfer dealings in this short timeframe to avoid any administrative or logistical complications that might affect its chances of making a commendable showing for Moroccan football on this grand stage.
