Wydad Athletic Club Draws on Ismail Al-Fath’s Experience to Avoid Refereeing Errors in the Club World Cup

- in Sports

Wydad Athletic Club has enlisted the expertise of Ismail Al-Fatih, the head of refereeing in Morocco, to accompany the team on their trip to the United States in preparation for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.

Informed sources indicated that this decision followed a proposal made by the team’s coach, Amin Benhashim, to the club’s management, suggesting that they take advantage of Al-Fatih’s experience to conduct awareness meetings with the players regarding the latest developments in refereeing laws. The aim is to avoid mistakes and behaviors that could lead to cautions or red cards during matches in the tournament.

Benhashim made this move based on the team’s previous experiences in the Club World Cup, where player Ibrahim El-Naqach was sent off during their first participation, and Yahya Jabrane received a red card in the most recent edition. These incidents prompted the technical staff to take preventive measures to ensure the group remains focused and prevent the repetition of such mistakes.

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation approved Wydad’s request and allowed Al-Fatih to accompany the team, making him part of the official delegation heading to the United States tomorrow. This mission combines mental and technical preparation with a commitment to discipline in one of the most prestigious competitions at the club level.
