FIFA has reduced ticket prices for the expanded Club World Cup set to start next Saturday in the United States, continuing until July 13. This decision comes amid weak demand for the tickets.
This follows remarks from FIFA Secretary General Matthias Grafström, who expressed concern in an interview with a British newspaper about the thousands of tickets available without buyers, acknowledging that the tournament, which features 32 teams, appears commercial from the outside.
In an effort to avoid any losses in the costliest competition in history, FIFA decided to lower ticket prices. The champion will receive a staggering prize of $125 million in a short time and with less effort.
