Moroccan raspberries achieve record numbers in Middle Eastern markets

The presence of fresh Moroccan raspberries has significantly strengthened in Middle Eastern markets during the 2024-2025 season, registering unprecedented figures that confirm Morocco’s ability to expand its agricultural export network and its advanced position as a source of high-quality agricultural products.

The specialized platform “EastFruit” revealed that the quantities exported to the region exceeded 700 tons during the first nine months of the season, achieving a record that surpasses the total performance of the previous two seasons.

The United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia accounted for the largest share of exports, approximately 75% of the total quantity, while other countries such as Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, and Bahrain experienced increased demand for the Moroccan product, reflecting a gradual expansion in the customer base across the Gulf.

October was marked by the highest export rate, with more than 200 tons, exceeding the quantity exported throughout the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons combined. Meanwhile, sustained high demand in February and May maintained a positive growth trend throughout the season.

Available data showed a notable increase in the market share of Moroccan raspberries, rising from 7% to 15% in the UAE, from 0.2% to 5% in Kuwait, and a drastic jump in Jordan from 0.3% to 22%, indicating a tangible shift in the product’s status within Gulf markets in recent years.
