The fourth edition of “Museum Night and Cultural Spaces” is held under the theme: “Moroccan Youth: The Faithful Guardian of Tomorrow’s Heritage.”
The National Museum Foundation is organizing the fourth edition of “Museum Night and Cultural Spaces” on Thursday, June 26, themed: “Moroccan Youth: The Faithful Guardian of Tomorrow’s Heritage.”
A statement issued by the foundation noted that this edition, held under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, particularly focuses on youth, as museums and art galleries will open their doors to visitors free of charge from 5 PM until midnight, with priority given to young people.
This initiative, which has become a prominent cultural annual event on the Moroccan agenda, aims to facilitate youth access to their artistic and cultural heritage and strengthen their relationship with it.
The event is organized in partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation, as well as the Majorelle Garden Foundation. These partnerships reflect a collective desire to strengthen the connection between youth and their cultural heritage, transforming museums into spaces for dialogue and interaction between generations.
The official launch of the event will take place at the Oudaya space, beginning at the National Museum of Jewelry, where a special exhibition showcasing “Moroccan Caftan: From Past to Present” will be inaugurated, serving as a living testament to the richness of Moroccan attire.
The evening will continue at the Museum of Contemporary and Modern Art Mohammed VI, featuring the permanent exhibition “Moving Horizons: A Century of Artistic Exploration in Morocco (1920 – 2020),” which is an artistic journey comprising over 200 works, presented in an immersive visual display.
On this occasion, the National Museum Foundation will sign partnership agreements aimed at strengthening the bridges between education and culture, including an agreement with the Ministry of National Education to encourage the integration of culture into the educational process, and another with the Ministry of Higher Education to facilitate free access for teachers, researchers, and students to museums, incentivizing academic research on heritage.
Museums across the kingdom will offer diverse programs including exhibitions, workshops, guided tours, documentary screenings, and recreational activities, in addition to providing Wi-Fi services to enhance visitors’ experiences.
The statement concluded by emphasizing that “Museum Night” aims to make these spaces vibrant platforms that encourage creativity and dialogue, fostering a sense of belonging and cultural responsibility among the younger generation, within a vision that positions culture as a bridge to the future and a source of national pride.
