Seven people killed in a “tricycle” overturning accident in Kelaa des Sraghna; judicial investigation opened

The community of Sour Al-Az in the Kelaa des Sraghna region was shaken this Sunday morning, June 8, 2025, by a tragic traffic accident that resulted in the death of seven individuals, including the driver of a three-wheeled motorcycle, while seven others sustained varying degrees of injury.

A statement issued by the public prosecutor at the Kelaa des Sraghna court clarified that the incident occurred after the driver lost control of the vehicle, which was carrying 13 people. The accident led to the immediate death of seven individuals on the scene, including the driver, creating a shocking and somber atmosphere among the local residents.

The public prosecutor ordered an urgent investigation to establish the circumstances and causes of the accident, tasking the judicial police with conducting the necessary inquiries under its supervision. Instructions were also issued to transfer the victims to the regional hospital to expedite examination and burial procedures, along with monitoring the health status of the injured.

This incident has highlighted the issue of the reckless use of tricycles for passenger transport, particularly in rural areas struggling with inadequate public transportation, raising questions about oversight and road safety.
