Russia has condemned the sharp escalation in tensions between Israel and Iran, expressing concern over the developments in the region. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Moscow denounces this escalation, noting that the Russian Foreign Ministry will soon issue a detailed statement regarding the updates, based on instructions from President Vladimir Putin, which will subsequently be presented to the United Nations.
In recent hours, there has been a serious escalation following Israel’s attack on Iran as part of an operation dubbed “Rising Lion,” aimed at what it referred to as the “removal of the Iranian nuclear threat.” Israeli authorities declared a state of emergency across the country.
The Israeli military announced that the operation involved 200 fighter jets targeting over 100 sites inside Iran, resulting in the deaths of three senior Iranian military leaders, including the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, the commander of the Revolutionary Guards, and the head of Iran’s emergency services.
