Preparations for the 2025 Club World Cup: Wydad Begins Training Camp in Maamora

- in Sports

Yesterday, the Wydad Athletic Club began its training camp at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maamora, preparing for its upcoming participation in the FIFA Club World Cup. The players kicked off their training with a session in the gym, and the coaching staff is expected to organize additional training sessions throughout the week to enhance the physical and technical readiness of the team.

Coach Mohamed Amin Benhachem has requested a third friendly match before heading to the United States, following two previous friendly encounters against Sevilla and Porto, both of which ended with a score of one goal to nil in favor of the opponents.

Benhachem has made some tactical decisions, excluding a number of players from this camp, including Saifeddine Bouhara, Walid Naci, Ayoub Dairani, Hamza Sakhi, Mohamed Jdeidi, and Zakaria Nasik, preferring to focus on the most prepared players during this preparatory phase.

Conversely, he has decided to call up Brazilian duo Pedrinho and Arthur to join the camp, despite not relying on them for the starting lineup, wishing to assess their performance up close.

The Wydad camp coincides with the presence of the national team at the same complex as they prepare for two friendly matches against Tunisia and Benin on June 6 and 9, respectively, alongside a closed training camp for the local national team led by coach Tarek Skittoui from June 2 to 10.

The modern infrastructure of the Mohammed VI Complex provides an ideal environment for these preparations, ensuring the best conditions to enhance the performance levels and readiness of teams and national squads for upcoming challenges.
