New Developments in the "Sociopath of Ibn Ahmed" Case: The Trial Phase Begins
Oussar Ahmed
The case known in the media as the "Sociopath of Ibn Ahmed" has undergone a new development, as the investigating judge in the second chamber of the Court of Appeal completed the detailed proceedings against the defendant (S.A.) on the evening of June 5. The file has now been officially referred to the public prosecutor.
The next step will involve the public prosecutor submitting the final request, paving the way for an order to transfer the defendant to the primary criminal court. According to established procedures in such cases, this process will occur without the need to summon the defendant, indicating that the file has reached an advanced stage.
Available information suggests that the court is moving towards expediting the proceedings, given the severity of the charges against the defendant, which include premeditated murder and horrific acts carried out to commit a felony, in addition to aggravated theft. These actions are punishable under Articles 392, 393, 399, and 510 of the Penal Code.
This accelerating judicial path comes amidst public outrage and discontent sparked by the crime, leading to increasing calls for justice to be served promptly. Judicial sources indicate that the trial is imminent, especially after the investigation has been completed and all legal requirements for hearings have been fulfilled.
