Moroccan Banks to Observe Exceptional Holiday on Monday, June 9, in Celebration of Eid al-Adha

The Professional Group of Moroccan Banks has announced that Monday, June 9, 2025, will be an exceptional holiday for banks, coinciding with Eid al-Adha, which falls on Saturday, June 7. This decision is in line with the government’s policy to grant employees an extended holiday during this religious occasion.

In a statement, the group noted that each banking institution will inform its employees and clients about this decision and will take necessary measures to ensure the continuity of essential services during the holiday.

Banks will ensure the continued operation of automatic teller machines (ATMs) nationwide by providing them with sufficient cash reserves and mobilizing technical and human resources for immediate intervention in case of any technical failures that might disrupt service.

This measure is part of the provisions of Article 3 of Decree No. 2.05.916, which allows for the establishment of an additional holiday when one of the religious occasions coincides with the weekend.

The aim of this step is to facilitate the movement of employees and strengthen family and social ties during Eid al-Adha, which holds a special place in Moroccan culture and is considered one of the significant religious events in the Islamic calendar.
