Marrakech Records a 9% Increase in Overnight Tourist Stays by February 2025

Classified accommodation establishments in Marrakech recorded an increase in total overnight stays by 9% until the end of February, compared to the same period in 2024.

According to statistics from the Tourism Observatory for February, the number of overnight stays in classified tourist units in the Red City reached 1,536,868 nights, compared to 1,405,404 nights during the same period last year. The occupancy rate in these units during January and February was 68%, compared to 62% during the same time in 2024.

In February alone, classified hotel units in Marrakech saw an 11% rise in overnight stays, reaching 792,194 nights, with an occupancy rate of 73%, compared to 712,879 nights and an occupancy rate of 67% in February 2024.

Thanks to this strong performance, Marrakech maintained its position as the top tourist destination nationally, followed by Agadir with 992,008 overnight stays, Casablanca (365,501), Tangier (223,898), Fes (149,538), Al Haouz (114,688), and Essaouira (104,492).

At the national level, the total number of recorded overnight stays in classified tourist accommodation exceeded 4.2 million nights by the end of February 2025, marking a 16% increase compared to the same period last year.

The observatory indicated that these nights are distributed between national tourism, which increased by 6%, and international tourism, showing a growth of 20%.
