Sidi Bernoussi Tunnel Launch: A Project Enhancing Urban Connectivity and Establishing Spatial Justice
Nabila Rmili, the mayor of Casablanca, visited the Sidi Bernoussi district in response to an invitation from Said Sabri, the district head. She was on-site to observe the completion of the new underground tunnel and its entry into service, a step symbolizing a new dynamism in the development of infrastructure in the economic capital.
During her visit near the Civil Protection Centre, at the intersection of routes SB10 and SB07, Rmili expressed her great pride in this achievement that the residents of Sidi Bernoussi and Sidi Mounir have long awaited. She emphasized that the project represents the fruit of successful cooperation between the Casablanca municipality, the Casablanca-Settat region, and local authorities.
The mayor stressed that this tunnel is not just an urban project, but a tangible manifestation of the principle of spatial justice that the city seeks to instill, through meticulously programmed field achievements that serve the communities of the most dynamic areas.
Rmili highlighted that the project, completed in just eight months, included the development of three kilometers of road infrastructure alongside the tunnel. This will significantly alleviate traffic pressure in this area, which is among the most active in terms of residential and industrial neighborhoods.
This project, reflecting a clear commitment to balanced and sustainable development, seeks to enhance spatial cohesion and efficiency in urban mobility within the city.
