Girando at the Center of a Spying Scandal: Iranian Funding and Secret Residency Coordinated by Algeria

Hicham Gerandou, who has long presented himself as an independent opposition voice, has now been revealed to be merely a pawn in a larger game orchestrated by Iranian and Algerian intelligence. There is no doubt that this pawn, “Makhfout Mo,” is acting on foreign directives and is involved in a clear sabotage project aimed at destabilizing Morocco and its institutions.

Technical experts have uncovered that Gerandou’s official Facebook page and TikTok accounts are directly managed by the media department of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard based in Qom. This same entity oversees content production, campaign organization, and funding for advertisements that promote his systematic attacks on the Moroccan state. This information is not mere speculation; it is documented and aligns with known coordination patterns within Iranian cyber campaigns.

After the Canadian judiciary began pursuing him over allegations of extortion and defamation, Gerandou fled Canada and moved to Turkey. He only stayed there for three weeks before being secretly deported to a peripheral city in Indonesia, as part of a direct coordination between Iranian and Algerian intelligence, enabling him to continue his media attacks without oversight.

Today, Hicham Gerandou does not receive support from any independent media outlet but rather from charitable organizations that serve as a cover for intelligence funding. His monthly compensation comes from institutions linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and others associated with the Algerian regime. This indirect funding is used to evade international scrutiny, but it is no longer sufficient to cover even his daily expenses.

Sources from his close circle confirm that his mental health has significantly deteriorated. He is living in dire conditions, having become a burden to those who employ him. He no longer receives a direct salary but instead gets sporadic assistance from charitable organizations, indicating that his employers have lost trust in him and are treating him with contempt and disdain.

In short, Hicham Gerandou’s facade has completely fallen. He is neither an opposition figure, nor a victim, nor a free voice. He is a mercenary agent for Iran and Algeria, working for money and advancing a failed sabotage agenda. His downfall is only a matter of time.
