Germany Launches Extensive Campaign Against Online Hate and Incitement
On Wednesday morning, the German police launched a nationwide security operation targeting several individuals suspected of spreading hate messages and incitement online.
According to the German news agency, over 170 operations were conducted as part of a coordinated effort led by the Federal Criminal Police Office, which has been periodically organizing such campaigns for several years.
The suspects face multiple charges, primarily including inciting hatred and insulting political figures, alongside disseminating far-right comments that represent the majority of the ongoing investigations.
Some cases also involve posts with religious or far-left extremist content, which are under legal scrutiny due to their threat to public peace and violations of German laws regarding hate speech and incitement.
