French Minister of Equality Aurélie Bergé Arrives in Morocco to Enhance Efforts Against Violence towards Women and Support Their Economic Empowerment
On Monday, French Minister for Gender Equality and Fight Against Discrimination, Aurélie Bergé, arrived in Rabat for an official visit lasting until June 25. This visit aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation between France and Morocco in the fields of gender equality, particularly in combating violence against women and supporting their economic role.
During her visit, the French minister will hold a series of meetings with prominent Moroccan officials, including Minister of Economy and Finance Nadia Fettah Alaoui and her counterpart, Minister of Solidarity and Social Development, Naima Ben Yahiya. The two ministers are expected to announce a joint commitment to strengthen cooperation in training and preventing all forms of violence against women.
Bergé will also meet with the President of the National Human Rights Council, Amina Bouayach, and the President of the Moroccan Regions Association and the Regional Council of Guelmim-Oued Noun, Mbarka Bouida, along with discussions with the Secretary-General of the Mohammadia League of Scholars, Ahmed Abbadi, and advisor to King Mohammed VI, André Azoulay.
The minister is paying special attention to the role of women in the Moroccan economy, as she will visit the “Safran Nacil Morocco Industrial” site to discuss issues regarding women’s training and their leadership roles within the Moroccan economy as part of the activities of the Institute of Aviation Professions.
This visit is part of enhancing a strategic partnership between the two countries, reflecting their commitment to supporting women’s rights and equality while promoting opportunities for women in society and the economy.
