A network of fraud linked to Hicham Girando: Sentences and compensation for victims

The criminal court in Casablanca issued prison sentences and fines on Thursday, June 26, 2025, against five defendants in a case related to fraud, part of a network associated with the fugitive scammer Hicham Girando.

The court sentenced defendant (H.M) to four years in prison and a fine of 5,000 dirhams. (E.B) received a three-year prison sentence along with a fine of 10,000 dirhams.

Defendants (M.J) and (K.A) were each sentenced to two years in prison and a fine of 5,000 dirhams, while (J.T) was given a suspended sentence of six months along with a similar fine.

Victims Abou Chouaib, Qaar, and Said Raddif were awarded civil compensation. The ruling mandated (H.M) to pay 150,000 dirhams, and (J.T) to pay 80,000 dirhams.

This case falls under the category of intercity fraud schemes, amid calls to expedite the apprehension of Hicham Girando, who remains at large.
