Eid Al-Adha: General Delegation for Prison Administration Opens Visiting Hours for Inmates’ Families Without Allowing Food Packages

The General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration has announced that, in celebration of Eid Al-Adha, visiting hours will be opened for the families of inmates who are permitted to receive visitors, as well as for representatives of diplomatic and consular missions for foreign inmates starting from the Monday following the holiday. However, food packages will not be allowed.

In a statement released today, Wednesday, the delegation added that a special food program will be implemented for the inmates on this occasion.

It emphasized that, given the significant religious and social dimensions of this joyous occasion deeply rooted in Moroccan society, it has been decided to celebrate it within the prison facilities without carrying out the sacrifice of animals, in accordance with the noble message issued by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to his loyal people, urging them not to perform the ritual sacrifice during Eid.
