The China National Meteorological Center issued a yellow alert today, warning of a persistent heatwave affecting several regions across the country. According to a report from the Chinese news agency Xinhua, temperatures are expected to exceed 35 degrees Celsius during the daytime in several provinces, including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Henan, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Jilin, and Xinjiang.

The same source indicated that temperatures could reach between 37 and 39 degrees Celsius in some areas, while other local regions are projected to experience temperatures surpassing 40 degrees Celsius. This raises concerns about the implications of recurring heatwaves on public health and daily activities.

China operates a weather warning system consisting of four color-coded levels, where red signifies the highest level of danger, followed by orange, yellow, and finally blue. The yellow warning serves as an indicator of a preparedness state requiring caution and necessary precautions to mitigate the effects of high temperatures, particularly for the elderly, children, and outdoor workers.
