Aviation Sector: Exports Increase by 14%
The Office of Foreign Exchange reported that exports from the aviation sector exceeded 9.5 billion dirhams during the first four months of 2025, marking an increase of 14% compared to the same period last year.
In its April 2025 publication on external trade indicators, the office explained that this growth can be attributed to a rise in sales in the assembly category (up 15.3% to 6.2 billion dirhams), as well as sales from the Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) (up 11.8% to 3.3 billion dirhams).
Meanwhile, the phosphate sector and its derivatives saw exports rise by 12.3% to 27.66 billion dirhams, benefiting from increased sales in the phosphate category (up 48.5% to 2.75 billion dirhams), phosphoric acid (up 13.7% to 4.59 billion dirhams), and natural fertilizers (up 8.4% to 20.31 billion dirhams).
The office also revealed growth in exports of other mineral extractions (up 15.7% to 1.72 billion dirhams) and other industries (up 15.9% to 10.21 billion dirhams).
Conversely, exports of automobiles and electronics declined, dropping by 7% each, to 49 billion dirhams and 5.67 billion dirhams respectively.
