Absence of Hanouri and Rehabilitation of Souma: Key Updates for Wydad Ahead of Juventus Clash

Wydad Athletic Club will be without their player Hamza Hanouri in the upcoming match against Juventus, as part of the second round of the FIFA Club World Cup group stage, due to an injury sustained during the match against Porto.

Coach Amin Benhachem confirmed that the injury is relatively serious and could keep the player out beyond the conclusion of the competitions, stating, “Hanouri isn’t available yet; I believe he might return after the Club World Cup.”

The team received significant offensive support with the arrival of Syrian striker Omar Souma, who the coach indicated is fully ready to participate after undergoing a special training regimen prior to joining the group. Benhachem noted, “Souma has joined us and has been training to be ready; he is now ready and will be with us for the next match, God willing.”

Regarding player Ayoub Boucheta, Coach Benhachem explained that his health status is still under monitoring, and a decision about his participation against Juventus will be made during the last training session. He added, “What is certain is that he will be present with us in the third match against Al Ain.”
