Poultry Professionals in Kenitra Discuss Sector Challenges and Call for Swift Construction of Municipal Slaughterhouse
The Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services in Kenitra hosted a communication meeting organized by the Union of Poultry and White Meat Professionals on Friday, May 2, 2025, under the slogan "Consumer Safety Above All." The event saw the participation of numerous professionals, local authorities, and relevant institutions.
In his opening speech, the association’s president, Nour الدين بن عبد الله, emphasized the obligation of members to adhere to cleanliness and health safety standards, stressing the importance of refraining from reckless speculation. Ben Abdullah stated that the association is working to organize and facilitate the sector, while simultaneously urging local authorities to collaborate in bringing the major municipal slaughterhouse to fruition and finding legal solutions to the challenges faced by professionals in this field.
Khaled Azwar, president of the Civil Society Coordination, praised the outcomes of the meeting, considering it a positive step in organizing the sector. He commended the support of the regional governor for organizing this vital sector and noted the openness of local authorities and municipalities to the demands of professionals. Azwar also encouraged sector professionals to unite in cooperatives to enhance service quality and improve work standards, asserting that this would strengthen the sector’s capacity to tackle current challenges.
The meeting underscored the necessity for professionals to actively engage in the association, adhering to cleanliness and health safety requirements in their establishments and sales points. Additionally, it emphasized the need for clear and transparent pricing lists to prevent ambiguity and reckless speculation that harms consumers. The importance of regularizing administrative statuses and obtaining legal licenses and health cards was also discussed, alongside the need for professionals to participate in awareness and educational meetings organized periodically by the association.
