The Ministry of Equipment and Water has announced the organization of a national day dedicated to meteorological and climatic services next Monday in Rabat, under the slogan “Climate Services and Early Warning: Towards Enhancing Resilience,” with participation from several prominent national and international institutions.
The ministry stated that this high-level event will provide an opportunity for various stakeholders, including decision-makers, technical and scientific institutions, and socio-economic partners, to discuss the vital role played by meteorological and climatic services in risk management and adapting to climate changes.
The same source noted that this national meeting aims to highlight the importance of these climate services in supporting vital sectors such as agriculture, water resources, energy, transportation, and public health, by presenting the “Early Warning for All” initiative, along with showcasing the added value of artificial intelligence and digital transformation in enhancing the accuracy and timeliness of climate services. Moreover, it represents a chance to strengthen cooperation among national and international actors, encouraging various economic and social sectors to optimally benefit from climate services as a lever for sustainable development and climate resilience.
Additionally, the announcement emphasized that this national day on meteorological and climatic services serves as an exceptional opportunity to spotlight the strategic role of these services in risk management and adaptation, as well as to enhance national and international cooperation to effectively face climate challenges.
