The Moroccan U-20 national team has secured its place in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations for youth, following their victory over Egypt by a score of 1-0 in the semi-final match held on Thursday.
The first half concluded with neither team finding the net, as both struggled to create scoring opportunities.
After the break, both teams sought chances to score, with a notable attempt from Moroccan player Hossam Al-Sadiq in the 57th minute. His shot from outside the box was twice saved by Egypt’s goalkeeper, Tamer Shaaban.
Younes Abdellawi succeeded in scoring against the Egyptians in the 77th minute, connecting with a cross from the right side delivered by Ismail Awad.
With this win, coach Mohamed Wahbi’s squad has guaranteed their place in the continental championship’s final, where they will face South Africa, who advanced at the expense of Nigeria.
