Attijariwafa Bank’s Africa and Development Club Strengthens Continental Partnership from Cairo
The Africa and Development Club, the development arm of Attijariwafa Bank, launched its 41st multi-sector mission in Egypt’s capital, Cairo, on May 14 and 15, 2025. This event saw the participation of over 300 economic and institutional stakeholders from 12 African countries, reflecting the group’s commitment to enhancing economic integration within the continent.
This initiative was co-organized with Attijariwafa Bank – Egypt, under the slogan "Linking Markets, Building the Future," reaffirming the club’s position as a key platform for driving economic exchanges among Southern countries.
Participants in this mission included representatives from delegations from Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, Mali, Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal, Chad, Togo, Tunisia, and the host country Egypt. These delegations were accompanied by executives from Attijariwafa Bank’s branches in these countries, including Mohamed El Ghazi, General Director of the Ivorian Bank, Monir Ibrahim, General Director of Attijari Bank Mauritania, and Alexandre Bizio, General Director of SCB Cameroon.

The event featured prominent figures from the financial and institutional sectors, including:

A special forum was also organized on investment opportunities within Africa, gathering senior officials from investment bodies in Egypt, Senegal, and Cameroon, along with representatives from the industrial and food sectors. The necessity of accelerating cooperation among African countries and boosting confidence in the continental market was emphasized.
Intensive Business Meetings and Field Visits
The event yielded tangible results, as more than 400 direct B2B meetings were recorded among participating companies, covering key sectors such as agriculture and food industries, construction and public works, goods distribution, and the automotive industry.
The program included a field visit to the "10th of Ramadan" industrial zone, the largest in the Middle East, which has over 6,000 production units. This allowed participants to closely observe Egypt’s industrial and commercial potential available to African investors.
Upcoming Destinations: From Congo to Gabon
The Africa and Development Club concluded its mission by announcing the upcoming stops on its agenda, with a multi-sector mission set to take place in Pointe-Noire, Republic of the Congo, on June 24-25, 2025, followed by a major investment forum in Libreville, Gabon, on October 22-23. This aligns with Attijariwafa Bank’s vision to promote continental integration and enhance economic partnerships.
