The third session of the International Forum for Young Socialist and Social-Democratic Parliamentarians kicked off today in Marrakech, with the participation of parliamentarians from over 30 countries, as well as parliamentary heads, political leaders, and influential figures.

Organized by the Socialist Group in the Moroccan Parliament in collaboration with the Federal Youth and the Mena-Latina Forum, the forum aims to discuss key issues such as global peace, South-South parliamentary diplomacy, humanitarian crises, climate change, and human rights.

It also seeks to encourage young parliamentarians to consult and analyze these issues, propose innovative and effective solutions, and highlight their abilities to utilize modern technology and social media to mobilize and raise awareness around significant topics, particularly those related to social justice, the environment, and gender equality.

The forum aspires to empower young parliamentarians, especially those in their first term, to open up to international horizons, draw inspiration from experiences, and inspire their counterparts from various regions of the world.

Furthermore, it serves as an opportunity for collaboration on various issues and topics that concern socialists and democrats worldwide. This event also aims to provide a space for renewal, acting as a hub for ideas and proposals that can be shared with parliamentary groups and political parties, contributing to suggesting joint measures and initiatives.

The forum’s program includes discussions and sessions particularly focused on “Global Peace and Security: Geopolitical Challenges,” “Migration and Organized Crime,” “Climate Change and Water Crisis,” “Values and Human Rights: Individual and Collective Freedoms,” “Impact of Political Crises on Global Health: Humanitarian Crises and Pandemics,” and “The Role of Parliamentary Diplomacy in Economic and Trade Cooperation South-South.”
