Royal Air Maroc Signs Strategic Partnership with New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport

Royal Air Maroc and The New Terminal One, overseeing the development of the new Terminal 1 at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York, have signed a strategic partnership enabling the national carrier to operate flights from this cutting-edge terminal starting in June 2026. This move is part of Royal Air Maroc’s expansion in the United States.

This long-term partnership aligns with Royal Air Maroc’s vision to strengthen air links between Africa and the Americas, offering a distinguished travel experience through one of its most significant international gateways, as confirmed by a joint statement from both parties.

The New Terminal One is a central component of the JFK redevelopment project, managed by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, with a total cost of approximately $19 billion. The project includes the construction of two new terminals and the expansion and modernization of two others, in addition to a new ground transportation center and a completely revamped road network, aiming to transform the airport into a global transit hub with modern standards.

In this context, Jennifer Aument, CEO of The New Terminal One, stated, “We are pleased to welcome Royal Air Maroc to this ambitious project. This represents the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the airline’s presence in New York, built on a partnership focused on excellence in customer experience.”

Hamid Ait Ouahman, General Director of Royal Air Maroc, expressed pride in this collaboration, saying, “This agreement marks a major strategic step in enhancing our presence in New York, a key gateway for our transatlantic flights. This transition is part of our plan to establish our airline as a global carrier with high standards.”

It is worth noting that Royal Air Maroc currently operates two daily flights between Casablanca and New York using the existing Terminal 1 at JFK with Boeing 787 aircraft. With its move to the new terminal in June 2026, the airline will provide an improved travel experience for its passengers, incorporating the latest technologies and modern designs, along with exceptional services throughout the journey.

Royal Air Maroc’s customers will enjoy upscale services including high-end shopping and gourmet dining within the terminal, enhancing the overall quality of the experience for passengers departing from this key center in the United States.

Additionally, Royal Air Maroc is the first member of the oneworld alliance to choose to operate from the new Terminal 1, joining a prestigious list of global airlines such as Air France, KLM, Etihad, LOT Polish Airlines, Korean Air, EVA, Air Serbia, Scandinavian Airlines, Neos, Philippine Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Air New Zealand, and Air China.
