Royal Air Maroc Launches Largest Investment in Its History to Modernize Its Fleet

Royal Air Maroc is preparing to execute its largest investment project in history, valued at approximately $15 billion, aimed at modernizing and expanding its fleet to reach 200 aircraft by 2037.

The company plans to acquire 188 new aircraft and 60 spare engines, in a move designed to enhance maintenance standards and improve operational efficiency. This expansion is expected to strengthen the airline’s capacity to open more international destinations, particularly across the three continents: Africa, Europe, and North America, while also bolstering its presence on transcontinental routes.

This project is part of a broader national strategy that aims to establish Morocco as a pivotal regional hub in air transport, strengthening its role as a bridge between the North and South, as well as the East and West. This transformation is poised to create promising opportunities in employment, skills training, and the development of industries related to civil aviation.

Currently, the company is in negotiations with major global manufacturers, including Boeing and Airbus, to select the most suitable aircraft models in terms of quality, cost, and compatibility with both the Moroccan and international markets. This investment represents a strategic step that reflects Royal Air Maroc’s long-term vision to modernize its aviation infrastructure and keep pace with the rapid changes occurring in the global aviation sector.
