A fruitful dialogue between the Ministry of Justice and the National Union of Justice Employees on Friday, May 9, 2025, resulted in significant agreements aimed at improving the working conditions of staff in the sector and enhancing their career paths. The meeting, chaired by the Secretary-General of the ministry and attended by central officials, included a delegation from the union led by its Secretary-General and members of the national office.
During the meeting, the union presented its demands, addressing issues related to career progression, administrative and social conditions, while the ministry responded positively and committed to several measures:
– Resolving demand files within specified timeframes.
– Implementing the agreement of May 13 and 14, 2022, regarding the basic law for justice employees.
– Including exceptional promotions in the legislative agenda.
– Continuing dialogue to address outstanding issues.
The national office of the union expressed satisfaction with the ministry’s seriousness and emphasized the need to maintain a collaborative approach, particularly concerning justice reform and judicial administration modernization, ensuring the union’s involvement in formulating solutions and visions.
Additionally, the union welcomed the Minister of Justice’s invitation to hold an expanded tripartite meeting involving the most representative unions and the ministries of justice and finance before July 7, 2025, with the aim of reaching consensus on a new and fair basic law for sector employees.
The union also called for the expedited resolution of files concerning engineers and technicians and their integration into a specific compensation system, as well as providing court clerks with an advanced basic law that reflects their status within the judicial system.
The dialogue marked a new phase in negotiations within the justice sector, highlighting an official tendency to improve employees’ conditions in a context that demands a clear vision to restore the human element as a primary entry point for any profound reform of the justice system.
