Morocco Strengthens Imports of Russian Animal Feed Amid Global Market Fluctuations
In light of Russia’s efforts to enhance its presence in the global agricultural market and the rising international demand for high-quality animal feed, Morocco has emerged as one of the key destinations for importing Russian agricultural products, particularly animal feed.
The Russian Federal Agricultural Oversight Authority, Rosselkhoznadzor, has revealed that Morocco is classified among the top importers of feed produced in Russia for the period from January 1 to the 27th of this month, noting that shipments exported to the kingdom originated from ten different production areas across the Russian Federation.
The agency reported a significant surge in Russian feed exports, with more than 103,000 tons being shipped to 11 countries, including Morocco, the Czech Republic, and Estonia, representing an increase of more than 14 times compared to the same period last year when exports did not exceed 7,000 tons.
Rosselkhoznadzor confirmed that all shipments underwent rigorous testing in officially recognized laboratories, ensuring compliance with the health and veterinary standards required by importing countries, with 282 veterinary certificates issued to facilitate the legal export of these products.
This move aligns with Morocco’s strategy to diversify its sources of feed imports amid the fluctuations of international markets and escalating climatic challenges. This dynamic is viewed as part of the country’s efforts to enhance its food and veterinary security, in line with the expansion of agricultural and livestock activities across various regions.
