Military Service 2025: Expanded Training in Specialized Fields for Qualified Recruits (Official)
Mr. Mohamed Idlmghis, Head of a Department at the General Directorate of Local Authorities within the Ministry of Interior, stated that the male and female recruits of the 2025 cohort will benefit from training that specifically focuses on expanding specialized fields.
In a conversation with the Moroccan News Agency, Mr. Idlmghis explained that the duration of military service is set at 12 months, with the first four months dedicated to providing recruits with basic joint training, encompassing military and physical training. During the subsequent eight months, recruits will receive training in one of the specializations available at the training centers of the Royal Armed Forces, “which will help them acquire new skills and expertise that will open up job opportunities in the labor market after completing their military service.”
Mr. Idlmghis emphasized that recruits are entitled to several rights and privileges during this service period, highlighting that military service grants recruits a military rank according to the established hierarchy within the Royal Armed Forces, based on their educational qualifications.
He added that if a recruit holds an educational level lower than the baccalaureate, they will be granted the rank of soldier. If they possess at least a baccalaureate degree, they will receive the rank of non-commissioned officer, while those with at least a bachelor’s degree, diploma, or an equivalent certification will be awarded the rank of officer.
Mr. Idlmghis pointed out that recruits receive a monthly salary according to their assigned rank, which is not subject to any taxes or deductions. This salary ranges from 1,050 dirhams for soldiers, 1,500 dirhams for non-commissioned officers, and 2,100 dirhams for officers, in addition to benefiting from free healthcare in military hospitals, health coverage, medical and social assistance, and life and disability insurance.
He noted that recruits have the right to participate in competitions announced during their military service, whether by military or security institutions or public administrations. Additionally, if a recruit or recruit is also part of the public service, the law guarantees their right to retain their salary from their job, as well as the right to promotion and seniority, allowing them to return to their original administration after fulfilling their national duty.
In response to a question regarding the career opportunities that military service opens for recruits after completing their service, Mr. Idlmghis stated that answering this question requires accurate and precise data concerning the number of young individuals from previous cohorts who have successfully entered the job market.
He confirmed that in the absence of this precise information, and based on the initial data available, it can be stated that a significant percentage of male and female recruits who completed their military service from previous cohorts have indeed managed to enter the labor market in various fields and sectors, whether in military or security institutions, public administration, or the private sector. Some have even succeeded in establishing their own projects, thanks to the distinguished training they received during their military service.
In this regard, he concluded that the young individuals, both male and female, featured in the promotional campaigns related to military service, within the context of the ongoing census, represent real examples of the successful integration of many recruits into the labor market, easily, thanks to the skills they acquired and the exceptional training received during their military service.
