Heritage Meets Creativity: Caftan Week 2025 Redefines Moroccan Fashion

Caftan Week 2025 hosted an exceptional masterclass titled "Heritage and Creativity: New Paths in Moroccan Fashion," reaffirming its position as a vital platform that fosters dialogue between generations, sharing knowledge and expertise in fashion design and innovation.

The session featured three prominent figures in Moroccan fashion: Sara Chraibi (Maison Chraibi), Said Mahrouf, and Yasmin Raqibi (Doum), who shared their rich experiences with a diverse audience of young designers, students, professionals, and creative enthusiasts in an inspiring and open discussion atmosphere.

The session was moderated by media personality Douja Belkhayat, who addressed core issues related to the creative process, including the relationship between heritage and renewal, professional ethics, the use of local materials, and the challenges of passing traditional crafts to the new generation without losing their identity or becoming insular.

The interventions were deeply insightful, as the speakers expressed their gratitude for Morocco’s artisanal heritage and their sincere desire to experiment with and rework it using contemporary methods without compromising its essence. The session raised central questions: How do we ensure the sustainability of heritage without falling into stagnation? How do we innovate without detaching ourselves from our roots? How do we transform the Moroccan caftan into a continuously evolving global discourse?

At the conclusion of this interactive event, Caftan Week 2025 emphasized that creativity in Morocco is not merely an individual act but a product of communication and collective thought, based on openness, respect for the past, and the pursuit of a future in fashion that is more authentic and innovative.
