A young man in his twenties was arrested in Al Hoceima on suspicion of being behind groups on the “WhatsApp” application used for receiving and leaking answers to the baccalaureate examinations in exchange for financial rewards.
According to a statement from the King’s Attorney at the Al Hoceima Court of First Instance, the operation is part of efforts by the judicial police to monitor and combat cheating during exams through digital means, under what is known as electronic vigilance.
The search operation, carried out according to legal procedures, led to the seizure of equipment and tools likely used in cheating and leaking answers.
The suspect has been placed under police custody at the request of the Public Prosecutor, who also ordered that investigations be continued to identify other potential accomplices in this case.
According to the same source, necessary legal actions will be taken based on the results of the ongoing investigation.
