Officially… Arnold bids farewell to Liverpool after twenty years of loyalty and is moving closer to Real Madrid.
Liverpool Football Club announced this morning that player Trent Alexander-Arnold has decided to leave the team once his contract ends on June 30, 2025, bringing an end to a two-decade career at Anfield.
The 26-year-old right-back chose not to renew his contract with the Reds, preferring to embark on a new adventure outside England, while British and Spanish media reports suggest he is close to joining Spanish club Real Madrid.
In comments following his decision, Arnold stated: “I think the first thing I want to say is that this decision was not easy at all, and it required a lot of thought and emotions. I have spent 20 years here, enjoyed every minute of it, and achieved all my dreams; everything I aspired to has been accomplished here.”
Arnold joined Liverpool’s academy at the age of six and progressed through all age categories, making his way to the first team in 2016. He played nine full seasons with Liverpool, during which he won all possible titles, including the UEFA Champions League, the Premier League, and the FIFA Club World Cup, solidifying his status as one of the academy’s most notable graduates in modern times.
