One hundred students in India were poisoned after consuming a meal that contained a dead snake, authorities reported on Thursday.
The incident occurred last week at a government school in Mukama, Bihar, triggering a state of alert after symptoms appeared in one hundred of the 500 children who ate from the school canteen.
The National Human Rights Commission stated on Thursday that “the cook apparently served the students a dish from which a dead snake had been extracted,” urging local police and authorities to conduct an investigation.
