The Public Prosecution Office initiates a discussion on the protection of women and children from its booth at the International Book Fair in Rabat.

The Presidency of the Public Prosecution Office organized a scientific seminar today, Sunday, at its booth within the International Publishing and Book Fair in Rabat, under the slogan “A Citizen Prosecution Office for Rights and Freedoms,” dedicated to the topic of “Judicial Protection for Women and Children.” This initiative is part of efforts to establish a just social justice for vulnerable groups.

The seminar, which started at 3:30 PM, saw the participation of judicial officials and experts who discussed mechanisms for supporting women victims of violence and children in vulnerable situations, amid calls for expanded institutional coordination and improved interventions.

The session was chaired by Dr. Mohamed Chbib, head of the Family and Special Groups Protection Division. It opened with a statement by Dr. Aziza Hendaz, head of the specialized prosecution division, who called for the activation of the civil referral law and the coordination of efforts to protect women from violence.

Dr. Hicham Kharchaf, Deputy Public Prosecutor in Tangier, presented a critical reading of the territorial protocol for women victims of violence, highlighting the challenges faced in its practical application.

Dr. Sana Kamal, head of the Child Cases Follow-up Unit, addressed the shortcomings in the judicial protection of children in vulnerable situations, urging support for accompanying measures to protect this group.

For her part, Dr. Kawthar Mansouri, Director of Childhood and Women’s Affairs in the Youth Sector, emphasized the need for coordination among childcare centers, the Public Prosecution Office, and social and security authorities to ensure effective protection for children within care institutions.

This seminar is part of a series of initiatives by the Public Prosecution Office to strengthen the roles of judicial and social actors and to instantiate the concept of citizen justice based on the preservation of citizens’ dignity and the promotion of a culture of rights and freedoms.
