The Parliament announces the launch of the National Award for Studies and Research on Parliamentary Work
The Houses of Representatives and Councillors announced in a statement the launch of the fifth edition of the National Award for Studies and Research on Parliamentary Work, which aims to enhance and encourage specialized scientific research in the field of parliamentary work.
The statement noted that the President of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, and the President of the House of Councillors, Mohamed Hajji, oversaw the establishment of the award’s judging committee yesterday, Thursday, on this occasion, which is organized this year under the name of the Parliament Foundation.
According to the same source, the judging committee for the National Award for Studies and Research on Parliamentary Work is composed of a distinguished group of academic researchers headed by Abdelilah Abdi, with members including Ahmed Ajoun, Maria Boujdain, Omar Charkawi, and Yamina Hako.
In this context, the award is granted annually for outstanding works that fall within the scope of parliamentary competences, particularly concerning legislation, monitoring government performance, evaluating public policies, parliamentary diplomacy, and democratic practices related to parliamentary work and political development.
The award, which will be granted according to the scientific conditions and regulations specified in the internal system that established this award, will be awarded to any research or study, regardless of whether it is published as a book or as a university thesis that has been defended, as long as the date of publication of the book or the defense of the thesis does not exceed two years (2023-2024).
The winner will also receive a certificate that confirms the status of the award, in addition to the monetary amount allocated for the award as stipulated in the internal regulations governing it. The Parliament will publish all winning works that have not been previously published while considering copyright according to the applicable legal provisions.
According to the statement, for participation, all nominated scientific works must be submitted in the form of a printed and published book or as a thesis prepared for publication, in six (6) paper copies accompanied by a readable and usable electronic medium, along with a brief personal and academic biography of the nominee, a media-usable personal photo, and filling out the nomination form available on the websites of the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors, and sending it along with a complete electronic copy of the nomination file via the designated email for the award.
A special judging committee will study and evaluate all published scientific works and ensure compliance with the scientific and organizational conditions stipulated in the internal system of the National Award for Studies and Research on Parliamentary Work.
The source added that all individuals meeting the nomination criteria should take the initiative to submit their scientific works in accordance with the conditions and regulations stipulated in the internal system that established this award, between May 5 and 30, 2025.
