The regional judicial police in Beni Mellal launched an investigation in the early hours of Wednesday, April 30, under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, following an incident involving three individuals in an abnormal state who threatened a police officer outside his working hours and stole his personal vehicle, which contained his service weapon.
According to the information gathered so far, the officer was attempting to resolve a nighttime dispute among several individuals when he decided to retrieve his equipment and handcuffs from home to attempt to detain the suspects. However, one of them brandished a knife at him and seized his personal vehicle, which contained his police gear, including the firearm, before fleeing with two accomplices.
Through diligent investigations and intensive search operations, the police managed to apprehend three suspects believed to be involved in these criminal acts, recovering the firearm and ammunition, in addition to finding two cartridges that were used under circumstances currently being verified through field research and ballistic expertise.
The suspects are being held in custody under the judicial investigation overseen by the competent prosecutor’s office, while all individuals linked to this case are being questioned to uncover the facts, circumstances, motives, and background associated with the incident.
