Engineer student Rejae Toura from the National School of Arts and Crafts in Rabat has been awarded the Grand Prize in the National Robotics Competition, which took place yesterday in Tetouan, organized by the Mechatronics Club of the National School of Applied Sciences in Tetouan.

The “Med Tech” team from the National School of Applied Sciences in Tetouan secured the second place, followed by the “Nexus” team from the Faculty of Science and Technology in Beni Mellal in third place.

The National Robotics Competition is part of the annual “Robotica Connect” event, now in its thirteenth edition, aimed primarily at celebrating and showcasing innovations by engineering students from institutes and higher schools in Morocco in the field of robotics and new technologies.

This scientific event, held over two days, included a scientific conference on the topic of “Biomedical and Health of Tomorrow,” featuring many experts, professionals, and researchers in the fields of health and biomedicine, culminating in a national competition that saw participation from over 20 teams representing various engineering institutes and schools across Morocco.

On this occasion, Kamal Rklaoui, director of the National School of Applied Sciences in Tetouan, highlighted that the biomedical field was chosen as the theme for the 13th edition of the National Robotics Competition, consistently organized by students of this school affiliated with Abdelmalek Essaadi University in Tetouan.

In a statement to the Maghreb Arab Press, Kamal Rklaoui added that the National Robotics Competition witnessed participation from over 20 teams representing various schools and higher institutes for engineering training in Morocco, where projects with distinguished technological and creative standards were presented, reflecting the competence of Moroccan engineers and the level of technical and scientific training, serving as an indicator for attracting foreign investments.

In this context, he emphasized that the level of graduates and engineering students at the school encouraged Renault in Tangier to establish a research and development center in Tetouan, which will open doors for enhancing scientific research and professional integration for students.

In a similar statement, the Grand Prize winner of the National Robotics Competition, Rejae Toura, expressed her happiness with this scientific award, affirming the quality of projects presented during the competition.

The engineering student from the National School of Arts and Crafts in Rabat explained that her award-winning project focuses on aiding visually impaired individuals, providing them with an advanced service to assist in their daily lives by helping them identify obstacles and people, along with a feature that enhances communication with the blind.
