North Development and Renewal Agency and the French Institute in Tangier Sign Partnership Agreements
The North Development and Renewal Agency and the French Institute in Tangier signed two strategic partnership agreements yesterday, Thursday, in areas of mutual interest.
The signing of these agreements, one of which was signed by the General Director of the North Development and Renewal Agency, Monir Biouasfi, and the Consul General of France in Tangier and the Director of the French Institute, Philippe Troucky, while the second was signed by the French diplomat and the President of the Social Affairs Association of the agency, Ijlal Boukhabza, reflects a shared desire to enhance Franco-Moroccan cooperation for the purpose of fostering integrated, sustainable, and inclusive territorial development.
Based on the complementarity of their missions, the North Development and Renewal Agency mobilizes its expertise in the fields of spatial planning and local development, while the French Institute offers its expertise in cultural, educational, and social spheres.
This partnership revolves around three priority areas of cooperation, including the sharing of knowledge and skills in local governance and territorial development, providing training for local stakeholders in development, and supporting cultural, artistic, and social projects that promote integration and innovation.
Monir Biouasfi stated in a press statement on this occasion that this initiative will allow the North Development and Renewal Agency’s social activities to open up to the French Institute, enabling the agency’s staff and their families to access the services and events organized by the latter.
He also highlighted that this partnership will facilitate the promotion of the French Institute in rural areas of the region, thereby contributing to the better establishment of culture in areas distant from major centers.
He praised the active engagement of the French Institute in the cultural development process in the city of Tangier, emphasizing its central role as a key player in the cultural and social dynamics of the region.
For his part, Philippe Troucky underscored that these two agreements aim to encourage the activities of the French Institute, particularly concerning language courses and the organization of workshops and cultural events throughout the region.
By signing these two agreements, the institutions reaffirm their shared commitment to a structured partnership based on the values of dialogue, mutual respect, and shared progress between Morocco and France.
