Mali’s Foreign Minister Expresses Deep Gratitude to His Majesty the King for the Kingdom’s Solidarity with the Sahel Alliance

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Mali, Abdallah Diop, expressed his deep gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the Kingdom’s ongoing solidarity with the Sahel Alliance countries during a meeting on Monday in Rabat.

In a statement to the press following the reception of the foreign ministers from the three member countries of the Sahel Alliance by His Majesty the King, the Malian minister conveyed the brotherly greetings and feelings of friendship and solidarity from the heads of state, including Assimi Goita, the transitional President of Mali and President of the Sahel Alliance, Ibrahim Traoré, President of Burkina Faso, and Abdourahamane Tiani, President of the Republic of Niger.

Diop explained that the royal reception provided an opportunity to express the three countries’ gratitude to Morocco and their positive appreciation for the level of friendly and cooperative relations between Morocco and each of these countries, as well as with the Sahel Alliance as a whole, stressing the continuous development of these relations.

The Malian official praised the royal initiative aimed at facilitating Sahel countries’ access to the Atlantic Ocean, which would contribute to diversifying the maritime outlets for the three countries, as well as being a step that enhances peace and security in the region.

The three ministers commended Morocco’s steadfast position towards their countries, which are undergoing transitional phases, and praised the role played by the Kingdom in maintaining dialogue and strengthening relations based on mutual respect.

During this reception, His Majesty King Mohammed VI reaffirmed the Kingdom’s readiness to enhance and intensify cooperative relations with the Sahel countries in a manner that serves peace, security, and stability in the region.
