Hicham Girando… From the Platform of Filth to the Facades of Blackmail

On the brink of moral and professional bankruptcy, the man known as Hicham Girando emerges, waving his repeated lies and engaging in his latest losing battles against the honorable citizens of this nation, claiming to expose corruption while he is knee-deep in a swamp of extortion and slander. This individual, facing multiple complaints in Morocco and Canada, has found no means to keep himself in the spotlight other than a desperate attempt to tarnish the reputation of the General Directorate of National Security and attack high-ranking officials known for their integrity and dedication to the law and the nation. He knows better than anyone that those who direct their arrows towards established institutions do not do so in defense of the truth, but rather in fleeing from it.

Since his only weapon is slander, Girando does not hesitate to target a symbol of security governance in Morocco, a man who works in silence and responds with results rather than words. Abdeslam Hamouchi, whose name is now associated with pioneering security achievements and internationally recognized competence, has become a target for cowardly outsiders who failed to confront the truth and chose to distort it instead.

However, Moroccans understand that anyone attempting to harm this man is essentially targeting the entire nation. The royal trust he enjoys and the popular embrace of the General Directorate of National Security’s performance are far stronger than the cries of a hired extortionist who has failed even to redeem his reputation in exile. Girando, a fugitive from justice, possesses nothing but a dark archive of criminal history and vile practices. He has transformed into a merchant of insults and a trafficker of slander, mastering only the manipulation of facts and the amplification of illusions, in a futile attempt to purchase a legitimacy he does not possess after losing his reputation both domestically and abroad.

Our institutions, led by the National Security apparatus, do not require anyone to defend them as much as they need to expose those who seek to tarnish their image with paid tongues. The Moroccan security force is built on a strict national creed and high professional ethics, and no petty hired hand can diminish the aura of trust it enjoys.

What Hicham Girando is practicing is neither an opinion, nor journalism, nor even opposition. It is blatant extortion and a cowardly affront to a safe country. If he has the audacity to speak, he should have the honor to face justice, rather than hide behind a foreign passport and a worn-out screen.

Today is not a time for silence, but a time for resistance. Whoever dares to tamper with the reputation of the state and its figures will find strong institutions before them, a court that does not compromise, and a public opinion that has started to realize that the most dangerous enemies of the nation are not those who defy the law, but those who hide behind the mask of freedom of expression while being the clearest manifestation of a lack of honor.
