Arab Support for Morocco’s Nominations for Positions in Regional and International Organizations

Moroccan nominations for positions in regional and international organizations received broad support from Arab foreign ministers during their meeting on Wednesday at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo.

The Arab ministers, during the 163rd session of the Arab League Council at the level of foreign ministers, expressed their backing for Morocco regarding its re-nomination for membership in the Executive Council of the United Nations World Tourism Organization for the period 2025-2029.

They also voiced their support for the Kingdom’s candidacy for re-nomination to the Board of Administration and the Postal Operations Council of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) for the period 2025-2028, and for re-nomination to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Council for the period 2026-2027 in Category C.

In the same context, the Arab foreign ministers expressed their support for the nomination of Abd al-Razzaq Rawane to the Committee Against Torture for the period 2026-2029, and the nomination of Muhammad Abd al-Wahhab Rafiki, from the Arab group, for membership in the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for the period 2025-2028, as well as Morocco’s candidacy for membership in the International Civil Aviation Organization for the period 2025-2028.
